Founded in 1999, Nottingham Chinese School is a non-profit weekend school dedicated to teaching Chinese language and culture. The school offers Chinese language courses from beginner level to A-Level, alongside cultural activities such as calligraphy, traditional music, Chinese painting, and dance.
The school works closely with the Confucius Institute in Nottingham and the WHP Federation to promote Chinese language learning and cultural exchange within the local community.
The school is committed to providing a high-quality learning environment with effective management and a friendly atmosphere. All tuition fees are used to support teaching and school operations, and the school committee is made up entirely of volunteers.
Teaching follows a structured progression-based curriculum, with class sizes limited to a maximum of 25 students to ensure that each student receives appropriate attention and support. The school uses the textbook series 《中文》, published by Jinan University, to develop students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
